Galmtastic Girls Beauty Spa started out as a concept for a class project for an esthetician student. The project was to have a menu created. The client reached out to me to design a menu, as opposed to taking the route of her classmates that chose to create the menu’s themselves in Microsoft Word or Paint.
I appreciated that the client wanting to go above and beyond the requirements, so I offered to come up with a logo and other branding for her mock business as a highly reduced rate.
The client exceeded her instructor’s expectations and the client has planned to actually open Glamtastic Girls as her business using my designs!
Logo Design
The client wanted something in a script-like font as she felt that would work better than bold or block style fonts. The color pink was a definite requirement for the client as it was her favorite color and it cemented the idea that this was something for girls. She also requested that either diamonds be used or a tiara. I felt that both of those elements were too much and highly overused, but that diamonds were much more played out, so I went with a simple tiara. I chose to use green and white as it worked well with the pink script font giving an aesthetic that reminded me of candy and youthfulness.
Mascot
The client showed me an illustration of a girls spa that she liked and requested that I illustrate something similar for her brand.
Services Menu
The client wanted to have a menu that listed her services.
Promotional Items
The client requested a t-shirt design and branded ballpoint pens to be produced to give out as promotional items and to eventually sell.
